In Taiwan, a dentist must pass the national examination, hold a physician certificate issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and complete practice registration before treating patients. The clinic itself is no different: under the Medical Care Act, a medical institution may only open after it has been approved and registered by the health authority and issued a practice license.
